In the museum's dungeons, visitors can delve deeper into the history of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) by exploring archaeological discoveries unearthed during construction work on the monastery's grounds.

These findings include fragments of pottery, tiles, bricks, and roofing materials, as well as remnants of metal tools that span from the late Middle Ages to the 20th century. Additionally, there are remnants of pipes from the monastery's wooden aqueduct, dating back to the 18th century, etc.

Thanks to Martin Gruneweg, a merchant, Dominican monk and archivist of the Dominican Lviv monastery, which now houses the museum, we have gained insights into what the monastery looked like during the Middle Ages and more.

He left us the first detailed description of Lviv, and stories from his diary have survived as city legends. You can explore these tales through the paintings of Natalia Kurii-Maksymiv, created using the technique of glass painting, which are on display in our dungeon.

Additionally, we have a sculptural group on display, created by the sculptor Mariia Savka-Kachmar, depicting one of Ukraine's most important shrines – the Pochaiv Lavra.

We also feature the video installation “Inner Lands”, directed by Oleksandr Dirdovskyi.

Group tours are organized daily at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. near the museum ticket office.

If you prefer to explore at your own pace, audio guides are available at other times.

For groups (of at least 5 people), you can book a themed costume tour titled 'Love through the Ages' by appointment. Phone: (067)-702-13-21.
