On March 11th, the day of the Lithuanian national holiday – the Restoration of Lithuania's Independence, our museum hosted the opening of the exhibition of paintings in poetry and prose "A Place Where I Am".

This project is a collaboration between artist, Lithuanian painter Nomeda Čiurlionytė and Ukrainian writer, poet Anna Burbon. The idea of the project is to show the Ukrainian woman in the modern world, a world of anxieties and unrest. How she lives, loves, creates.

Nomeda Čiurlionytė was born in Lithuania. She later moved to England, where she studied and worked. Love brought her to Kolomyia. And for 15 years, the artist has been living in Ukraine with her husband and daughters.

At the exhibition, Nomeda Čiurlionytė presented about twenty of her paintings. These are large-format canvases, painted between 2013-2025. The turbulent and tragic events of our present day have shaken the artist. She showed her reflections on life during the war in a series of paintings. The works are bright, deep and colorful, full of emotions and meaning.

The exhibition will be on display until May 19, 2025.
