On July 18, the presentation of the photo exhibition "Rhapsody of the Carpathians" by priest Andriy Aftanas, a professional polygraphist, took place.

Andrii Aftanas - rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the village of Shchyrets (Pustomyty district, Lviv region). In 1985, he graduated from the Polygraphic Institute named after I. Fedorov (now the Ukrainian Academy of Printing), and later from the Theological Seminary. Participant of all-Ukrainian and international photo contests, award winner. Combining spiritual service with creative pursuits, he puts into practice the acquired knowledge of the theory of photographic techniques and conveys to the viewer his vision of the beauty of the world.

For three years, Father Andriy captured the Ukrainian Carpathians with incredible landscapes, the colorful local population with their lifestyle, customs, and inner world in the villages of Vorokhta and Dzembronya of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, as well as in the Kozmeschyk and Rakhiv district of the Zakarpattia region. The photos show an old house, children, a grandmother in an embroidered dress, a mustached grandfather, a flock of sheep, and other unseen moments of Hutsul life. And these are more than half a hundred photos, made both by the newest digital printing technique and by the forgotten authentic photo printing technique, cyanotype.
