The exhibition of vytynanky (art form of papercutting) by Natalka Otkovich and Oksana Sentymrei opened on March 2.
The "Single moment" art project, as its authors and initiators note, "was created in order to investigate the impact of war on individual destinies and collective consciousness through the prism of vytynanky. They are made in black, red and white colors, in this context they become a medium that conveys deep emotional states, transitions and reflections."
The vytynanka presented at the exhibition, authored by Natalka Otkovich and Oksana Sentymrei, are different in performance style, theme and mood.
In her art Natalka reproduces her reaction to the dramatic events of the war in Ukraine, her sheets mostly have an abstract composition, contrasting color combinations of red and black or red and gray with a splash of white, they are distinguished by a special drama in the chosen language of expression.
Oksana Sentymrei operates in a different language of expression, her compositions are dominated by birds, which are woven into a lace of plant and zoomorphic motifs. Color-wise, her palette is dominated by white, which is sometimes accented by bright red.
